Jamia Launches University-Industry Linkage Programme

Launching a new initiative, Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has established University-Industry-Linkage Programme (UILP) for the benefit of the students.

The Vice-Chancellor, JMI has approved the constitution of an Advisory Board comprising of Dr. K. Salim Ali, Hony. Director and Advisor, Centre for Coaching and Career Planning, JMI, Deans of all Faculties, Hony. Director of AJK-Mass Communication Research Centre and Prof. Shafeeque Ahmad Ansari of Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences, JMI. The Board shall look into the functioning of the Placement Cell of the university and issue advisories and guidelines for effective placements.

The Advisory Board shall be responsible for frequent and mutually beneficial interactions with industries, periodic updating and fine tuning of curricula in consultation with the industry, conducting Soft-Skill Development & Capacity Building programmes for the students to enhance their employability skills, arranging industrial visits and training for students, enabling the students to secure project internship, organizing seminars, technical exhibitions, cyber lectures and special lectures by leading Corporate Leaders and Industry Captains among other relevant activities in order to strengthen UILP.

The Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, JMI is the Nodal Officer for implementing the broader objectives of the UILP.
