Dept. of Eco. Conducts Capacity Building Programme for Social Science Faculty

The Department of Economics, Jamia Millia Islamia, has organized a two week Capacity Building Programme for Social Science Faculty Members(CBPSSFM), sponsored by ICSSR; the inaugural session of which was held on 15th May, 2015 wherein,  Justice Rajinder Sachar, Justice Sohail Aijaz Siddique were the chief Guest and Guest of Honour. Prof. Talat Ahmad VC, JMI presided over the programme while Prof. Abdul Shaban, PVC, TISS, Mumbai delivered the keynote address.

This programme has been specifically mandated to train faculty members of minority community and minority institutions in Social Sciences from all over the country, as in the present times, the need for empowerment from various perspectives to the minority community is undoubtedly essential. Reiterating the theme, Prof. Halima Sadia Rizvi, Programme Director and Head, Department of Economics and Dr. S. A. M. Rizvi, Programme Advisor, CBPSSFM, emphasized that the workshop intends to not only train participants in the nuances of Research and Methodology but also emphasis is given on digitally training them in latest techniques, tools and softwares to enable academicians to be competent professionals and administrators. Besides, the workshop aims to provide a platform for the overall excellent personality development of participants in enabling them to handle issues in finance, legal, environmental, human rights, ethics in academic writing and profession to be an all round personality.

India is a land of multi diversity and its unity lies in nurture, care, protection and promotion of this diversity. Indians and India must strive to achieve this.
