Peace Walk for North-East at Jamia on Wed. Oct. 3 at 10 am

To emphasize the need for a sensitized democratic society, especially in the wake of disturbing trends in terms of violence including terrorism across and within nation states and the recent conflagration in Assam, JMI’s Centre for North East Studies along with the Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies is organizing a peace walk for Human Rights in the North East of India on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, starting at 10 am from the Mirza Ghalib statue on main campus road heading towards Ansari Health Centre, and then taking a U-turn and heading towards the Administrative Block into Ansari Auditorium Complex and culminate at the MF Hussain Art Gallery, where an exhibition of photographs by three young women photographers who have worked on the North-east and conflict situations will be on display.
