Proposed Jamia Metro Station Moved

According to a PTI report dated Aug. 17, 2012, Delhi Metro on Friday shifted the proposed Jamia Nagar Metro station from the main gardens to one end of the university.

Prof Khalid Moin, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, is reported to have said, the station would now come up near Naom Chomsky Centre and that no buildings will have to be razed for the purpose.

Earlier this month, Delhi Metro had commissioned a feasibility study to shift the proposed Jamia Nagar metro station when Jamia had opposed the construction of the structure in front of the Administrative Block that overlooks the main gardens citing security concerns.
