VC Jung to Recite Poetry at the India Habitat Center

Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will recite from a selection of poems on 15th March at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

His recitation will be part of a programme which is being organized by UstadGah, an organization which has famous Sufi singer Zila Khan as their Managing Trustee.

The programme will be held at 6.30 PM in the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre.

As part of the programme, UstadGah will be conferring the title of “Ustad-e-Maa” to honour women maestros creating a path in the history of music. This is to empower women artists.

This year, the title of “Ustad-e-Maa” is being conferred on Dr. Yamini Krishnamurti by the Patrons of UstadGah – Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Minister, New & Renewable Energy, Mr. Salman Khurshid, Minister, Water Resources and Minority Affairs. Also present would be Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj.

This will be followed by a Sufi Kalaam by Zila Khan and a narration of poems by Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice Chancellor, Jamia.
